Keyboard idea

Idea:

The piano uses variable pressure to control the volume of the note
My leyboard uuses variable pressure to control which character is
produced
Example:
Minimum pressure produces statistically commonly used variation, example
lower case characters
Additional pressure produces less commonly used
variation, for example upper case characters
Or
Additional pressure could produce a totally different character - a cell
phone would produce a number lightly and a character when pressed
harder
Or
Additional pressure could produce a totally different modifier key than
the shift key, like the control key, or the function key - a laptop has
arrow keys that when pressed harder are function + up = page up

There are two ways to implement
1. Electro magnetic
2. Mechanical

1. Electro magnetic
The velocity of the magnet being pushed through the coil can be
deccoded
Pros - custom per user
Cons - increased cost

2. Mechanical
By depressing a key
An umbrella like device is pushed down through a mine shaft
The mine shaft is ribbed creating levels
Such that depending on the force applied the umbrella stops and hooks at
a level
When the key is released
A spring pushes the umbrella back up causing umbrella to turn inside
out. This means that the underside of the umbrella contacts the
underside of ridge or level making an electrical connection at that
step
The step is contructed
When the key is depressed again the umbrella is forced to turn itself
right way round again
