Dream a little dream of me v2
I am dreaming of being 36 years, caucasian male, 5' 10", 200lbs, married
with 2 kids
I am dreaming of having my own business
I am dreaming about dreaming about business all the time
I dreamed I went to a bni meeting at the terminal city club in vancouver
where the lobby is white marble, the staff are old
I dreamed of a room of people dreaming of making their businesses grow
Like barnacles growing on rocks opening their mouths at eating what ever
swims by
In a small tide pool the ocean has left behind
I feel so small dreaming of making my business bigger
Dreaming of efficiently acquiring capital, labour, and markets
Dreaming of being eaten by others, or eating others
It all seems so meaningless
When compared to the sun
And what it does
And how much it gives
And how little it cares for profit
Or return
Dream a little dream of me
I am dreaming of being 36 years, caucasian male, 5' 10", 200lbs, married
with 2 kids
I am dreaming of having my own business
I am dreaming about dreaming about business all the time
I dreamed I went to a bni meeting at the terminal city club in vancouver

djinni djawawa and the salmon
djinni djawawa
Dj: Good morning professor!
Pr: good morning djinni!
Dj: what are you doing today?
Pr: today we are going to help the salmon.
Dj: what are salmon professor?
Pr: salmon are the keepers of the great rivers. They were born in these
rivers hundreds of thousands of years ago, and after they hatch they
swim to the ocean where they hunt shrimp for a couple years, turning
their meat bright red. Then they return to the river they were born,
jump high over rocks upstream to return to where they were born.
Dj: how are the salmon doing professor?
Pr: they are dying. Their children are dying. The rivers for their
babies are being destroyed, and the oceans where they grow big and
strong are being destroyed.
Dj: who is doing this professor?
Pr: we are eating too many of their parents. We are breeding large
numbers of sea lice by farming atlantic salmon. We are using too many
chemicals that are going into the ocean. We are burning too much
gasoline and making the temperature increase.
Dj: what do you wish for professor?
Pr: I wish the salmon were healthy. I wish we ate less salmon.
Dj: then what could you eat?
Pr: I wish we ate 1 or fewer wild salmon per year each, and ate more
yummy organically grown locally produced vegetable protein.
I wish we didn't breed sea lice by fish farming - but we do - so I wish
we didn't farm fish.
I wish the companies which are polluting the ocean and rivers would
start cleaning up. I wish the owners drink the water from their
factories.
I wish the companies which are polluting the air and the ozone would
start cleaning. I wish the owners breathe the air from their factories.
Dj: I have made your dreams come true. In the future the salmon are
healthy. In the future people eat less salmon.
People eat 1 or fewer wild salmon per year each, and eat more yummy
organically grown locally produced vegetable protein.
People don't breed sea lice by fish farming.
The companies which are polluting the ocean and rivers have cleaned up.
The owners drink the water from their factories.
The companies which are polluting the air and the ozone have cleaned up.
The owners breathe the air from their factories.

I guess I know the answer
To the question
If you don't like getting what you are getting why do you keep doing the
same thing?
Because I am scared of change
But
I want to make what I want to make
I want to produce software and find publishers
What frustrates me is my expectations
What's depressing is realizing
- project checks and balances aren't strong enough
- good network is hard to find
- I have not figured out the 5 day 8 hours job yet, let alone 4 days per
week
- need to formalize schedule more and be disciplined about it
- I want to resell other developers teams, handle the prospecting,
sales, design and billing (software broker franc concept)

Upside down and inside out - ct day 4
I am
My stomach burns like ice
The top of my head and around my eyes feel bigger than my body
My ears are filled with the distant noise of traffic that isn't there
My heart is beating hard and heavy
And my eyes are sad and want to cry
Sleep does not want me tonight
I have been empty
Chasing fullness
Instead of being full
And sharing everything I have
So where is the truth now?
In my fear of being myself
But who will buy me?
What shall I eat?
What shall I give my family?
My first thought is of the wordless wonders
I want to give them
Then I want to give Neo code quotas
And set expectations for myself and others
And are things different? Are things changed? Or always they always the
same?
What have I learned?
I want to give myself peace.
I was reminded to listen and care, and put others needs first, and that
the more you give the more you get.
For managed services plans I want to give companies 5 to 25 with
revenues of $5e6 a free cleaning while I make a presentation, and a
keyboard, a mouse and a mouse pad as a thank you.
For fm hosting I want to give fsa members hosting. Please send me your
files. I can give that message by invitation and flyer and website.
For custom development I want to give companies with 50+ employees and
$5+e6 a custom accounting, sales or hr report they need. I can give that
message by phone.
For b2c ecommerce I want to give homeopathic doctors free stores. I can
give that message by flyer.
For b2b ecommerce I want to give manufacturers with $10e6 free stores. I
can give that message by flyer and email and letter.
For digital posters I want to give medical associations with 200+
posters free digital posters. I can give that message by phone.
For myself I want to give a wordless wonder randomantra (with an
intermission) to an audience. I can give that message by projector, and
laptop, and car in parking lots.
For myself I want to give performances of out of the past collapse, with
cooking, and karaoke, and a mystery.

Book Review - ella enchanted by gail carson levine
I adore fairy tales. But I adore fairy tales retold or twisted even
more.
Ella enchanted, like the movie the slipper and the rose, is a
sophisticated cinderella retelling.
The conceit is that of the good wish gone bad - in this case when an
arrogant fairy bestows the gift of absolute obedience.
Highly recommended

Houston day 1
am sure you will find them. Was it the whisky I bought tempting one of
your handlers? Or was it my green suit? Or my underwear? Likely it was
my deodorant and toothpaste.
Airport shuttle - your extra friendly counter staff, arguing with your
customers is extremely refreshing. Who knew customers could be so wrong?
Also having your driver circle the houston airport an extra time gave me
time to appreciate just how large the airport is. And then compliments
to the drivers racing skill and the vans poor suspension. The exhaustion
I felt from my trip was quickly replaced excitement and adrenalin.
The westin galleria - the web site is clean and fresh, which makes
arriving so surprising. I read on wikipedia that houston maybe the most
air conditioned city. The lobby was nice and chilly, and the welcome
smell of air con decay, or old carpets and furniture filed my nose.
The lobby, hallways and elevator are all in a style that's back in
fashion in again. I am glad to see the westin is not updating anything
and should be commended on minimizing its environmental impact by
needlessly redecorating.
But entering the room was great. An icy blast met me, and the powerful
engine of the air con comforted me.
However it wasn't until I counted all the money I would save by not
drinking the $6 shots at the mini bar, or drinking the $4 bottled water
that had been left out, was I really happy.
Happiness found, I tackled the internet. Of course the instructions are
there just as a puzzle to test my skills, I do so love a teaser. The
jokers red herring of rebooting my own computer was devilishly clever.
Of course I had to reboot the rooms router at pay $10/24hrs before I
could access the internet.
Before bed I had a quick bath. Again thankfully they hadn't renovated
the bathroom and kept all that junk for ending up in the landfill.
Satire, poking fun and sillyness v2
Did you ever get a catalog in the mail from world vision about how could
buy a goat for a family?
Well, the drug addicted need charity too.
In vancouver, the downtown east side struggles with drug and poverty.
Here's what catalog for these people could look like:
$50 for a years supply of bleach
$200 for a years supply of needles
Special breakfast at ikea
$100 to rend van for 12
$80 for 2 hours for driver
$13 for breakfast
2. Obesity
When I was young I dreamed about being rich, famous or powerful. Now
that I am older I have accepted that I will be none of them, I have
decided that at least I can be fat.
I mean obese. I mean huge. I mean so big people get out of my way. I
mean so big at the airport I get driven around. I mean so big I am
intimidating. I mean so big I need to drive a big car and have a big
house.
I wanna be big, mr big.
3. Exploitation
Now how's this is funny don't ask me. But I was thinking the government
is squeamish about taxing casinos, why not add brothels to the list?
The government would have plenty of jobs for university graduates, glue
and gas sniffers and drug addicts a like - plus they would have the
revenues to cover counselling.
G8 nations should be able to compete and win when it comes to the best
brothels.
4. Global warming
The solution to global warming is simple. We need move the problem as
far away from us as possible.
We don't want pollution in our backyards - where can we put it?
What's needed is a large rail gun to shoot cannisters of co2 at the
moon.
Mind you the gun needs to fire in both directions so the earths spin
isn't changed too much. Also probably best to deposit the co2 somewhere
it can recovered - like the moon or mars.
5. Energy conservation
Who has proven best at energy conservation?
When have humans ever consumed just what they needed?
When we had no choice - about 100,000 years ago.
6. Genetically modified foods
The plan to make foods that trick the tongue into tasting salty and
fatty will make for interesting creatures in the future. Evolution will
sort it out.
7. Financing
No payments till 2020! Use all the energy and water you want. Build on
all the farmland you want.
Satire, poking fun and sillyness

Fear of failure vs destiny favors the bold
she found a gorgeous place in kits for 180k that's now worth 550k in
just over 6 years. I was scared to buy it because it was a leaky condo,
however the owner would cover a portion, and the final price wasn't
known.
I was too scared to buy it and lost out.
On the flip side, we built a beautiful r2000 house on trout lake.
However to make mortgage payments, we need to share our house, which
makes life stressful.
If she another job we could share the house with fewer people.
If I had better paying job we could share the house with fewer people.
But we don't.
And I don't ever want to move.
This is the most perfect house ever.
So there's a chance to buy a franchise that has the potential to make
more money than seagate.
As always my goal is just to see the deal done, earn a commission, and
buy a small piece of the equity.
Pros
1. Its in calgary, which is growing
2. Its in cosmetic dental surgery, which is growing
3. Its backed by a large multinational, with a growing share of the
market
4. The vendor has a history of protecting markets
5. Every other franchise makes money
6. Training is provided
Cons
1. Its in calgary, not vancouver
2. Even with financing the startup costs would require all my resources
3. Finding staff in calgary isn't easy
4. The greedy dog barks at his reflection and loses the steak he has
5. It does not fill me with happiness to baby sit it
6. Executing the marketing plan will take cash

The ocean dream
Playing and eating tasting ocean food
Then we are told there are sharks
But that sharks never swim in the inlet where the factory is
We swim there
And it is deep and dark and dead
With great fallen tree trunks
But slowly we see squid
Groups of small squid harvesting floating islands of sea squirts
And bringing their harvests to larger squids
But they are a menace
And out on the beach
The squids take on childrens forms
And walk among us
Harvesting the unwary
Leading them to the inlet to swim

a long time ago, 7,500 years, for the first time humans began to farm and increase in numbers and build fortifications and weapons in greater numbers than we have records of before. our settlements grew larger and better protected.
today trains crossed from south korea to north korea for the first time since the war in the 1950s.
and we have found new sources of food and energy every year for millenia - despite the astronomical bombardment of meteors, asteroids. despite ice ages and global warming.
all these things we have lived through.
because there were new ecosystems for us to exploit.
everytime we where able to leave eden and find another place with new resources to extract.
the last civilisation to collapse is being rebuilt on natural gas exports to europe and asia.

we have survived the floods
we have survived the droughts and the locusts
we have survived the global warming before
we have survived the genocides
we have the survived the circii?
circusses? like boxen to boxii?
and we have survived the plagues
[i love you has sliced the burgers in to very fine pieces such that the portion that has been removed and fit for consumption is extremely small and beautifully prepared. and the waste material from the burger that won't be eaten was used to make the edible more beautiful and more of a focal point.]
i love you: the slicing and dicing is ready.

You hoo! Over here! - Empreor Doodlewood Bump's Adventure #1 draft
Draft
If you are interested, and have the time to finish a story for next week
publication - how much for a 500-1500 story for Performance PC Magazine,
with all rights assigned, an episode of the following short stories
series:
Empreor Doodlewood Bump's Adventures
Civilisation Collapse Eschatology
Prologue
The secret diaries of Noodlehead, the 23rd illuminated and venerable
master of the arts of the instant noodle - Improv Noodle Cook Master,
Order of the Handlemakers, Rainer of the CogAgni, Utter of RandomAntras,
Troubleshooter of Networks, Director of the Center for Healing Human
Cognitive Development Inspiration Improvisational Imaginary, and
Troubadour of the Eschatalogical Collapse of Civilisation.
These writings chronicle my efforts and a few modest successes in
keeping the world as we know it in place and chaos at bay.
If you are reading this, then you must have passed many tests and
endured many longs years of hard study at the many various and ancient
academies, and are no doubt in the old and dusty library of the Center.
(Of course you are there, where ever you are, broadcasting, and
mechnically and electromagnetically replicating yourselves as near the
speed of light as possible.)
I have spent my life troubleshooting in wake of the 7 year old Emperor
Doodlewood Bump and the holographic projections of super powerful yet
flawed artificial intelligences (that you would likely think of as some
form of space ship) from our distant future, that have been upgrading as
fast as they can.
The following volumes, contain what little I can remember of these
events, where in the whole, I was no more and no less than the 3rd good
fairy in Sleeping Beauty, that couldn't undo the curse of death, merely
mitigates it effects.
Adventure #1
One Saturday afternoon, at the Center, Emperor Bump was sitting at the
table reading the paper after doing his Grade 1 math homework, and he
was struck with the fact that women earned less than men. He went to
pour himself a glass of milk and asked the two AIs Djawawa and Asira
"Why is it so?"
The robots went into a collage level discussion of the issue and the
Emperor of the Known Worlds nods his small black head.
"Djawawa and Asira - I have it! I know the root of all evil!" Emperor
Bump says.
The AIs materialize and morph rapidly through a series of shapes until
settling of the brownies from the movie Willow.
They talk more in less in unison, but occassionaly argue and interupt
each other.
"Emperor Bump - but we promised Noodlehead not to change history
anymore," explain the accented 6" high buckskin clad hunter gatheres.
Emperor Bump nods his head, and folds his seven year arms behind his
back.
"Yes I see. We mustn't forget about that. So what can we do about the
inequality of pay between men and women?"
The brownies squirmed. "I know," said one, "we could get rid of all the
money!"
"No silly that wouldn't work, they'd just go back to using rocks
again!"
"We could make them all women."
"Hey - good - we'd talked about that..."
"Silly robots the problems are segregated bathrooms. As long as men and
women think of themselves as seperate inequalities will appear."
The AIs turn and look at each other, and yell "and that spells fun!"
As they begin to turn into tornadoes like hyper active version the
tasmanian devil - Bump shouts over the increasing din - "Don't do
anything else!"

Eschatology
Collapse - 7 generation toxins, environment - our parents haven't been
able to kill us in over 2.8 mya, what's make you think they can kill us
now? Its each other we have to watch for. Our brothers and sisters have
always been responsible for the lions share of our deaths. Its the
toxins we have ourselves. We are intrinsically toxic. We have made
dictators and suicide bombes. We have made agent orange and chernobyl.
We have trans fats.
Civilisation - future police - we are always on the battlements scanning
for the barbarians - the pirates - the cancers - looking for their
quarter to attack and bring us down and back. We must be allowed to
continue to flower. We are only 7500 hundred years old. We need more
time. We must spin to see ourselves whole. And so collect the co2 out
the atmosphere and shape it into containers and shoot it out the earth
from an aimable platform. Deposit containers on the moon, on mars, on
mercury, in order to impart momentum. And so the earth spins enough so
that is in eternal sunshine. Good things grown where good things grow.
Eschatology - the study of extinction. The night doesn't lost forever.
Nor does the day. Why did the civilisation on Rapa Nui collapse? What
happened to the ancient fertile crescent city of Ur? What led to the
fall of Rome? Or Constantinople? Or Athens?

3 Dreams
I am with, I am a, stone age hunters.
There is a hunter not from our clan who is attacking us. He attacks
without concern for his safety and strikes vicious blows against us. His
stone daggers are sharp and I am cut badly.
Pushed to the edge, our clan is unanimous [sic] in agreeing to defeat
him.
It is night when he attacks us next. He strikes and slashes one of the
hunters, and we are all after him. We circle around him, and we give to
him what he has given us.
"We spare your life, though you have not spared us. Here is food."
And he is happy to die.
Orca
Our clan is small. But not small enouigh for the food we can find. We
know of great clan that we will raid.
We are chased out and narrowly avoid being killed by spears, by jumping
in to the sea off a cliff.
In the sea an orca and I find each other. The orca carries me on its
back and races through the water. It is exhilirating.
Computer store
A couple months before christmas, in china town, my wife and I rent a
small (10" x 10") store front shop, and renovate it to look kind of like
a jewellery store. We use lots of varnished light coloured wood, and
strip lighting with spots.
We negotiate a deal on getting the leasehold improvements for free by
paying 6 months rent in advance.
We fill the story with expensive high quality computers and gadgets, and
well dressed chinese salesmen to sell them, and the store is packed.

Feminism is a kind of male chauvinism
Genderless humynkind is best. Does the "y" not bring attention to the
missing "a"? Or to the "y" chromosome?
Genderless people are best.
New androgynous clothes.
Single wash room facilities.
Segregated bathrooms are the root of all evil.
We are made of stars
We survived the big bang
We survived the earths birth
We survived the asteroids and the comets
We survived the volcanoes and the earthquakes
We survived the anerobic environment
We survived in the oceans
We survived the move to the land
We survived africa
We survived the ice age and the stone age
We survived agriculture and the bronze age
We survived population booms and busts
We perfected hunting until there was nothing left to hunt
Then we moved and the earth got warmer
And we perfected agriculture until the soil was exhausted and salt
poisoned
Then we moved and we found petroleum
And now we are perfecting coal and oil
If we exhaust that resource and release the stored co2 where will we
move next?
Why won't the strategies that kept us alive for 2.8 million years keep
us alive for another 2.8 million?
Global warming we have survived before, and ice ages too.
So why are the thing we do today killing and poisoning our children in
ways that killing and poisoning our children in the past aren't the
same?
Exposure to toxins that never existed before.
There was lead before. And there was mercury.
But now we more in scale, in kind, and in scope.
We have co2 in atmosphere, hole in ozone, pcbs, ddt, napthalates, and
radioactivity.
Our evolution hasn't prepared us or the plants, fungi and animals we
depend to cope with that.
So I know my name is not Joshua, but Thomas, or Judas, or am I Paul
after all.
When I read Jesus saying not to worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow
will look after itself, the toxically or radioactively mutated make
me doubt it. But who am I not to have faith. Are we not already the
result of cataclysmic events?
And I also have been confused about Matthew 25-26, and what I thought
meant that God provides for us, which made me concerned about the many
mass extinctions in the earths past. How were the dinosaurs provided
for, aren't they as valuable as sparrows? But the message is different.
The message is worry won't add an hour to your life.
After so long its hard to move on from this story.
But without falsifiable proof what is a human to think?
Its an ineffable creator that gives humankind faculties that can't
locate God's existence.
All our senses are blind to God?

Every year, thousands of bunnies are raised for sale at Easter time.
Well meaning parents, acquire small fluffy animals as presents. When the
kids are bored the presents get tossed, and left alone, they breed until
they become a nuisance.
What should be done that will reduce the bunny population to lessen
enviro impact and make the world better?
Butcher them for convenient fast food restaurant usage to make bunny
meat kid friendly.
Concepts include (or goose):
- bunny nuggets
- bunny "wings"
- bunny burgers
- bunny sandwich meat
- bunny pizza pockets
- bunny jerky

Rumpelstiltskin / Rumplestiltskin v10
An end of the world eschatological cataclysm, in which love, the
ultimate sacrifice makes all the difference in the world, where the
strong and mighty and proud and glorious are humbled, in dozens of
pages, with hundreds of words, and thousands of letters.
1. Once upon a time there was a poor old oil and gas producer who
depended on his daughter to troubleshoot the oil fields that were always
breaking down due to equipment failure and sabotage. his daughter
jeannie was very smart, clever, cute and feisty. Has to be cute. Has to
be feisty.
But she was so sick and tired of filling tanker trucks, and so sick and
tired of keeping the pumps working all day so she and her old father
could earn enough money to eat. The pumps were always breaking, the oil
was always coming up either too strong or not strong enough, or not at
all, the staff were always getting sick, getting shot or getting blown
up, or just not showing up for work, politicians always asking for more
money, security always wanting more gear, environmentalists always
protesting, and lawyers always getting in the way. Not too mention the
endless dirty tricks of the competition.
She was sick and tired of being poor, of not having enough to eat, of
having to pay too many taxes without sufficient representation, of
having to watch her father work his whole life to take care of her and
not being able to take care of him now he is old, of the dishonest
swindlers getting rich, of her mother dying before she was old enough to
know her, of not getting to enjoy the life the other girls her age were
enjoying - the parties, the clothes and the guys.
And she was always, always, coming up with ideas to make them better off
than she is now.
So she sings "swinging on a star." "Would you like to be better off than
you are?" while she works on her plans for alternative energy sources,
for a more equal distribution of wealth, a reduction in global warming,
a reduction in pollution, and ultimately a reduction in population, all
the while increasing the energy consumption per person.
2. One day when the president, his secret service agents, some of his
liege lords, and the police are driving by in their suvs, she makes her
father run out and kneel before the president's hummer with a truck with
a few barrels of oil on it. The police stop the convoy, and take him
down (face down in the pavement), and after he had been truncheoned,
frisked and handcuffed, the president waves the ss off and asked what he
wanted, the poor oil producer told the king what Jeannie had asked him
to him say - 'my lord, these barrels are but a few of the many barrels
thay my daughter has made by spinning straw in to oil.'
3. The president ordered the police that she be brought to him at once.
The secret service searched her and her plans, and then she courtsied to
the president and told him that of course she couldn't spin large
quantities of straw into oil yet but given enough funding, and here she
took out her plans, that by slighlty increasing taxation on oil and gas
usage he could raise levies to build processing plants that would
convert plants in to biodiesel and maintain the economy and avoid the
coming collapse of civilisation brought on by peak oil.
4. The president was not a nice man. He hadn't stayed president by being
nice. And he didn't like being made fun of (straw into oil -
ridiculous!) in front of his lords by anyone - though she was cute, and
obviously clever - he was furious and he wanted his revenge on her by
showing his lords that no one could get the better of him. 'Give this
foolish man a sound thrashing for interrupting us
and leave him in the street,' he said, and some of his accompanying
guards immediately started to pummel her father, who was being held by
two polices and beaten by two others. Turning to Jeannie, who was being
held back by two other police, he said 'and as for the girl, throw her
in the dungeon, provide her with a lab and straw, and bring me her head
tomorrow if she hasn't spun the straw into oil.'
6. In the lab, Jeannie sat with her back to the technicians and the
straw and cried and
cried and cried. She was upset with herself and wished she was back at
home with her father processing the barrels of oil into gas or pumping
the oil into barrels instead of being locked in the sterile, soulles,
and scientist infested prison waiting to die.
7. Before she had time to feel truly miserable about dying the next day
and leaving her father alone - suddenly there was a knock on the lab
door, and in came a small strange man. Strange because he was so small
and strange because he had opened the door, but she hadn't heard the
turn key turn to unlock it. He looked her up and down and said - 'what
will you give me if I process this straw into oil?'
8. Jeannie tried to wake herself up - 'I must be dreaming this. I must
be still asleep in my bed in the refinery.'
Jeannie said 'I don't have anything to give you.'
He said 'Give me that gold ring on your finger.'
'That was my mothers wedding ring, the only thing I have left that was
hers. Don't ask for that,' Jeannie pleaded.
'What good is the ring if can't save your life? Do you think the
executioner will not slip it from your finger before he removes your
head?'
'What if you run away after I give you the ring?' she asked.
He gripped her hand with suprising speed and strength - 'I could take
it
now,' and then let go.
'Here take my mother's gold ring,' she said slipping it off her
finder.
He put the ring on his necklace, and set to work feeding the straw into
the spinning wheel, and he began to sing a lullaby. And soon the
lullaby, the sound of the spinning wheel and the hypnotic spinning of
the wheel soon put Jeannie to sleep.
9. The sound of the prison door crashing open made Jeannie wake up in a
start. She rubbed her eyes and stood up. The executioner and a guard
were standing in the room with dumbfounded looks on their faces. The
straw was all gone, and in its place was solid gold thread. They were
scared, and closed the door again.
10. The prison door opened again, and in walked the king. The king
blinked and gulped and rubbed his eyes. He had brought with him some of
his ministers who whispered amongst themselves. He had brought a preist
who was sure it was the devils work. He had also brought his master
goldsmith. The goldsmith went down on his hands and knees and felt the
solid gold thread. He looked at it, smelled, and he bit it, checking if
it was gold. He hit it with his hammer and weighed it on his scale.
Then
he turned to the king and nodded.
10. A sly and crafty look fell over the king's face. 'So,' he said,
'you
can spin straw into gold. You weren't lying after all. I will put your
talents to good use.' But Jeannie protested - 'my lord, I can't spin
straw into gold! It wasn't me - I swear! It was the little man - he
came
in and did the spinning. I gave him my ring.' The king frowned, and and
then called to the guard outside the door - 'guardsmen, bring me the
captain of the guard this instant' The captain of the guard came
running, and panting said 'sire, what is it? What has happened?'
'captain, on your life, did anyone enter this room last night?' asked
the king. The captain starting shaking 'no sire. I posted these two
guards and no one has come in or out.' The king nodded, and the captain
relaxed and looked around for first time and was shocked.
11. 'Miller's daughter, it wasn't you that spun this gold? Was it the
devil that helped you as my chaplain believes? Did my captain of the
guard forfeit his life by failing in his duties and let the devil?' the
king laughed. 'Tonight I will move you to bigger, better guarded
prison,
with more straw that my chaplain has sprinkled with holy water for you
to spin on your life in to gold, and we will shall see what will shall
see.' With that the king, very pleased with his cleverness ordered the
gold transferred to his vaults and Jeannie moved to a medium security
prison.
12. Jeannie lay surrounded by straw heaped all around her. Was that
small man really the devil? Then she thought of her dying tomorrow.
Then
she thought of all the people she would never see. She thought of the
husband she would never meet, the child she would never have, and the
grandchild she would never spoil. She wondered what having her head cut
off would feel like. She wondered what would happen to her body. She
was
doing her best to stay awake since it was to be her last night alive.
As
she was starting to go to sleep a familiar voice said to her 'what will
you give me, if I spin this straw into gold?'
13. She opened her aways. It was the little man. She made to run and
pound on the door - but the little man caught her by the wrist with an
iron grip. 'No,' he said. She opened her mouth to scream - when out
shot
his other hand, and covered her mouth so she couldn't breathe. 'Not
that
either.'
14. She nodded and at once he let her go. 'What are you doing here? Who
are you? Where do you come from? Do you always hang out it prisons
waiting for women to show up that need straw spun into gold?'

Dreams
Friends
Singing beattles
Guitar
Circle 50+ people
Then beer run
Get in micro elevator
In the us
I am and I am not
In the lobby seniors gamble, watch tv, watch classical musicians and
listen to a lecture on the civil war
I go outside
And then I dream about taking my horse and buggy to a kids fair
To which I walk
The reins go through the front wheel on the tricycle
Which means after before the revolution is complete I have the pull the
reins to make the wheel spin backwards to avoid having the pulled out of
my hands
Making it impossible to give rides longer than 5 minutes I say in my
dream
The fair handyman is shocked
And helps me improvise a harness
The next and last dream
Is about a opera cd case size "art" photo book of "european" (godard/de
sade/fellini) erotica
That I read completely
But that I am convincing this girl at work lou to recreate photographs
from the book
I want her to recreate the sex scenes and photograph them
She knows she might be offended and asks if she will find it offensive
I look at the book to find the beginning of the last section which is
not erotica at all but madness
The degrading of human slaves through poo play
Humans in naked save for bondage gear on all fours
In a barn with straw on the ground
Pushing faeces into piles with their faces through puddles (urine?)
It is black and white and there is a caption about their "Mistres" -
misspelled to indicate what? A man?
I decide that's likely to offend her
Thinking about my dream
And the images
I can remember
What I would call the blue boy
Which is a man dressed in chain mail like blue shirt and jacket - but
square armour not mail - all blue - but naked from the waist down, and
we see his profile but no phallus because his legs are scissored
Or
What I think in my dream is captioned something like "how to make a home
made contraption to do the goat"
The picture is black and white
And shows a pair lovers in a 69
The sex of the pair is obscured
By the contraption they are in
Lou is says she likes photography
But where's her work
And where's my portfolio too?
But its not porn
And this is the crux of the dream event
Even the dirtiest photos weren't as dirty as the cleanest porn
Because the subjects were not performing for the camera
They were on their own
Doing what they love best
This camera does not take
This camera gives
The mirror
The bond
Is in the freedom found in limits
You bind yourself to freedom
I take your picture and freeze you in the frame and you find freedom

Of course all media is our memory
It is what we will remember
What actions we make today
Are based on what history we remember
Do you remember when we cut down the last tree on easter island?
Or killed the last dodo?
Or erorded and salinated the once fertile fields of mesopotamia?
We remember the story of the ark and the flood, why not these?

A history of civ for Neo and Jeannie part 1
This may or may not be true. But based on the clues scientists have been able to find we think it true.
Once upon a time, 40,000 years ago (or maybe 2,000 grand ma and grand pa's ago) the ice that had covered the world a long long time started melting because the world was getting warmer. We don't know why it got warmer, only that it did. The earth had changed from cold to hot and from hot to cold many times in the past.
People all over the world started finding lots of new places they could travel to and lots of new food they could eat. Because of the amount of food available for them to eat, they had more babies. Because of the amount babies they had to keep looking for more food, and so they followed animals all over the world.
These people hunted animals for food and gathered fruits and vegetables to eat. They lived in caves. They were called hunter gatherers. They hunted animals by making tools out of stone. This was called the stone age. Eventually they got really good at killing animals. Perhaps they got too good and killed many animals until they were all gone.
As they killed all the animals in one area, they had to move to another area because all the food was gone. As they ate all the fruits and vegetables in one area they had to move to another area. Still they kept having more babies because they kept finding new food.
As peoples families grew, sometimes there wouldn't be enough food for everyone. And maybe sometimes people left taking their babies with them to go find another place to live that had more food.
In this way people spread over the whole planet, because we were able to hunt the animals that lived there, and eat the plants that grew there. Even in the north where no plants grow, people figured out how to survive, and people kept having more and more babies.
Around 10,000 years ago or 500 grand ma and grand pa's, the temperature was so warm that people could collect enough food from plants, and hunt nearby animals, that people in some lucky places began to live in one place. About 5 of these places in the whole world figured out how to grow things and made farms.

Why cities don't scare us
Humans also lack predators and aren't afraid of cities, limited liability corporations, petrochemicals, monarchies, religions or the stock market and the economic priests.
Ultimately agriculture and the unusually steady climate has created a new predator that our evolution has not prepared us for, just as the iguanas were not prepared for the introduction of dogs.

Why do human civilizations repeat the same mistakes?
We do eat everything in our ecosystem because it tastes good and even
though we are full, we are hungry.
We multiply and have babies for love and desire.
And we don't stop repeating the mistakes because we don't have to pay
for them.
Since the environmental bill comes later, its the future generations
that have to pay, and they either haven't been born or can't make us
pay.
Or in cases were the environmental has come, the companies either go
bankrupt or are bankrupt, and don't have to pay anything.
Would it help if:
- banks could be sued
- owners could be personally liable - there is no ecological bankruptcy
protection
- govts could be sued
- ecological insurance was required
Doesn't help building on farmland
Unless green roofs legistlated

Civilisation
to survive in the ecosystem as a result of the threat from each other
and natural disasters. We are new kind of plant? Just as we are
symbionts with mitochondria, we are symbionts of corn, wheat, and rice.
So are corporations plant eaters?
What kills it - past killer is pride. concentration of power due
survival from war and natural disasters, puts fewer people with less
experience at the controls of powerful weapons who don't have experience
and respect for their damage potential.
What heals it - malthus says population is problem, and cornucopians say
population drives innovation. If that were so why didn't austrailian
aborogines develop? Or easter island crash? Or the mayans crash? Limit
the number of people to prey on the earth.

The spectacle is just for show
And we all laughed, didn't we, you and I, till the tears streamed down
our faces and our bellies hurt, because we could see Rome's mighty
legions ruled the world.
But all that hard work, all those lives, all those sacrifices to make it
different from Sumer, or Babylon, or Crete, or Greece, what did it buy
us?
Only the warlords and the richmen win.
I know its an illusion.
Deny the trinity of power, wealth and fame and the earth is yours.
Civilisation is so seductive.
And what is its central promise - sooner or later you can get something
good for free.
And the deal is sell as many as your brothers and sisters into slavery
as you can.

Swing low sweet chariot
it is terrifying. It is hard not to go back to sleep and never wake up.
Wake up, wake up and I will tell you a story.
There is a scene in the movie Diva, in which the hero, Jules stands in
telephone booth bleeding to death having run away from his attackers. He
calls Alba, on the phone, who arranges to have him rescued, and
persuades him to remain conscious while she tells Jules to imagine the
fun they will have together.
Take a deep breath. Exhale.
We know that the effect of igniting as much petrochemicals as we have in
the last hundred years is the equivalent to striking the earth with an
asteroid, or creating an explosion that has been going on the past 100
years and has still not finished.
Breathe.
Don't sleep yet, there is the tale of Sheharazad, the wife of the sultan
who beheaded all his wives the day after their marriage.
Sheharazad told 1001 tales, one per night, but would stop the tale for
the night just at the moment something was about to happen. One night
she told the tale of Sinbad the sailor. In the story a poor porter is
invited into Sinbad's house to hear the stories of how Sinbad acquired
his wealth traveling the seven seas and being shipwrecked on numerous
occasions and left to die.
But, now, the seas are rising, and we are shackled to the walls of our
prison and the water will rush down our lungs. Our cities, our homes can
not move, they fix us and becomes our prisons and our graves.
But it should come as no disaster. We can practice losing father and
losing faster. Elizabeth Bishop in One Art encourages us that losing
isn't hard to master. She lost two cities, two rivers and a continent.
I believe there is a passage in The Wars by Timothy Findley, or maybe it
is my invention, of the hero witnessing a soldier with half his head
blown of, fixated on finding his hat, that has myteriously gone missing.
Or is that the hero has been heroically carrying his fallen comrade to
safety only to discover that a stray piece of shrapnel had killed him?
There are more stories I can tell. Don't sleep just yet. The ice is
melting slowly. There is plenty of time, the hurricanes are still
gathering unto themselves.
There is a Wim Wenders movie Wings of Desire, which start "as das kint
kint va." Peter Falk is in it, but there are also angels. The angels go
to people who are in need and sit with them unseen. I am sure there must
be a scene in which an angel is cradling one of the dying, though the
dying man knows it not.
I am poisoning my children with lead and mercury, faster than my parents
ever poisoned me. I have already thrown away more computers than they
will ever own in their lifetime.
I can hear you yawning, your eyelids heavy.
Did you ever hear the opera Carmen by Bizet or read the poem by Oscar
Wilde, The Ballad of Reading Gaol? We all kill the thing we love. Yes.
And so it is that we are killed by those who love us.
There is a legend about the last roman emperor, who played the violin
while Rome burned. Before I only saw the madness of it. The futility.
The response to something terrifying is to deny the reality of it.
Before I couldn't imagine how he could not be firefighting or saving
lives along with the others deperately trying to save what little they
could salvage.
Keep you eyes open, don't sleep yet.
But now I see something new. Now I see compassion and tenderness.
Dear Earth, dear city, dear life - find hope now in my song.
Swing low, swing chariot,
Coming for to carry me home.
I looked over jordan and what did I see
Coming for to carry me home?
A band of angels coming after me.
Coming for to carry me home.

Short story of a life
That means that some times he would turn into a monster. Kind of like a
were-wolf but not a wolf.
His life was almost perfect and charming. He lived in a nice new castle
and had everything he wanted. Well almost everything.
What he wanted but did not have was happinees. Rumors had it that he
hadn't known happiness for so long that his unhappiness had spread over
the whole kingdom.
It was hard to find happiness when an evil monster was attacking people
and things in his kingdom.
For a long time he ignored the problem. Then he started looking into it
after there was a disaster, but he couldn't find the monster. It was a
mystery.
Until finally, one day he discovered the secret of the evil monster.
That evil monster was him.
Perhaps an evil witch or wizard has cast a spell on him when he had been
born. Or perhaps he had eaten an poison apple. But more likely - in fact
almost guaranteed to be the reason was that he had done something he
wasn't supposed to do and the spell had been cast on his as punishment.
Was he being punished because he had rescued the princess? No.
Was he being punished because he had married the princess and made her
his queen? No.
No - he was being punished because of something else.
Everyday when the king's children's teachers left the children became
monsters.
Why did they become monsters? Because they a monster's children.
What was the queen doing?
So the king decided to
- call the queen regularly to see what she was doing and log activities
- call the queen and children around 4pm and see what they were doing
- prepare activity kits the night before
- prepare schedule the night before for wife and kids
To break the spell the king the singing fairy and the dancing fairy and
the drawing pictures fairy and the telling stories fairy helped him
everyday, and on weekends the swimming fairy and the massage fairy and
the making pancakes fairy helped.

my love at first site
I fell in love with you the moment I saw you
But I wasn't just seeing you with my eyes
You have a force field around you
You radiate caring
Standing before you
I feel cared for in a special way
You are accepting me and affirming me
Growing and strengthening me
As a partner
As one
I can drop everything
And help you
And I can admit, protect you as I can
And of course
Give my life for you
Because
I love you
As I have always loved you
Since I knew you as eve
And you knew me as adam
You are darling to me in every way
Your voice
Your touch
Your thoughts
Your dream
Your shape
And above all
Your breath
It is a crushing mystery beyond all mysteries
That the universe
That the galaxy
That the solar system
That our planet
That our contininent
That our city
That our neighbourhood
Has produced you
At this time
At this place
Where I am
That I might be the tree falling in the forest
Hear me
I am for you
